Something I noticed had improved onboard this sailing was the addition of more onboard activities.

The ship’s casual-luxe cabins and common spaces will allow guests to drift away to paradise with subtle nautical details and colors influenced by the surrounding seas, sands, and skies. Whether you want to wind down, stop by the spa, chill by the pool, or kick back in your stateroom, every second aboard Margaritaville at Sea is a chance for adventure. While the buffet may be smaller than other large-scale cruise ships, there is still a decent amount of options to choose from. The Butter Chicken Masala and the Creme Brûlée were my two favorite items at the dinner buffet. Of course, it wouldn't be a tropical getaway without some live poolside music, which guests can enjoy while lounging on the lido deck.
There will also be several bars (including the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar), casino, theater, and the St. Somewhere Spa. All told, the newly named Margaritaville Paradise will include 10 decks and 658 cabins. While closed-loop cruises, where you embark and disembark in the U.S., allow you to sail with a birth certificate instead of a passport, we recommend the latter. A lot of people on this cruise only had birth certificates, and so were subject to longer lines at the terminal, both coming and going. Getting from one end of the ship to another can also be confusing, particularly on the upper decks, where there is no real through access without taking various staircases. We also found odd areas of dead space, particularly the Hangout on Deck 14, which seemed like a sports bar with no bartenders or guests.
During my two nights onboard, I was impressed to see the counselors leading groups of fun-having children around the ship many times. Passengers can catch two sailaway parties with music on both days of the 2-night voyage. Dueling pianos is such a fun and interactive form of live music entertainment. In 2023, Paradise went to drydock and received a multi-million dollar renovation. The excitement for this cruise line has seemed to have grown since its start in 2022, as the first voyage after its dry dock experienced a sold-out success. Margaritaville at Sea, which began sailing in May 2022, offers still affordable rates, but is priced somewhat higher. On the downside, if you don’t live in Florida, then it’s a little harder to make your way to the ship. Major airports like Miami and Fort Lauderdale are a considerable distance for anyone thinking of flying in. But if you were planning on a classic cruise for 7-nights hitting all sorts of Caribbean ports, that’s not the case… at least as of now.
Those staying in suites will be able to enjoy connected mirrors from the comfort of their stateroom. These two additions are a great way for guests to have fun onboard and explore the ship during their 2-night cruise. I was excited to see that Margaritaville used these spaces to provide new amenities to guests. Everything you’d expect onboard any other cruise ship is also found here. From kid’s clubs to the casino, from the dining room to the buffet, from the spa to production shows… it’s all on Margaritaville at Sea.
The first change that passengers will notice, however, will be the completely new paint job of the ship. Gone will be the basic white hull, replaced with a much more tropical appeal, including new trim colors and a large mural of a parrot taking flight at the front of the ship. Which is good, because only 10 rooms on the entire ship come with a balcony.
